Maine Groups Decry Immigration Raids, Call For Reform

Several Maine groups that work for immigration reform are calling on President Bush to show some heart on Valentine's day week. They held a news conference in Portland Friday morning.


They say they want the White House to order a halt to immigration raids and deportations, which they claim are breaking up families around the nation.

"Our point today is to ask President Bush to stop the raids now until there is a comprehensive immigration bill passed and in effect," said Rachael Talbot-Ross from the Maine NAACP.

Among the groups speaking out Friday were the Maine NAACP and the Maine Civil Liberties Union.

No NO NO!!! Raids must continue NO MATTER WHAT. That's like asking a robber not to rob your house until the victim has accepted that unwanted person in their home.
Lastly, stop complaining about "its breaking up families all over."

Latest stats prove 12 Americans are dying daily at the hands of illegals. Do you not think these people have families and that their families are not broken up when illegal aliens cause their deaths?
Did the actress in NY who was murdered by an illegal scum bag not have family? Was the marine recently stabbed family not broken up?
HOW ABOUT THE FAMILIES OF DOGG AND THE TWO BP AGENTS. WERE THERE FAMILIES NOT BROKEN UP BECAUSE OF ILLEGAL SCUM BAGS?

Amen sippy......not a word ever mentioned about those families.

I'm not the least bit concerned about their cries of broken families when I hear countless stories of men that came here and left their wife and children there...only to set up shop with a new woman here and start another family. I just don't buy the "family values" routien one bit.
