Maine Soldiers Heading to Border
Maine Soldiers Heading to Border
April 26, 2008
Fifty Maine soldiers are headed out on a Border Patrol mission...
A group of Maine soldiers is heading out for duty on the US-Mexico border.
50 soldiers left for San Diego, California Saturday.
They'll be there for two weeks, supporting border patrol agents.
Another group will head out in mid-May for a similar mission.
45 soldiers returned to Maine last weekend after spending three weeks in Arizona, building and repairing roads and drainage systems.

Can we assume these are members of the National Guard and/or reserve units (weekend warriors)? Of course in these times I'm not so sure "weekend warrior" is the proper terminology anymore.
I still say we need to be sending our "professional" soldiers to the border for extended periods (6 month deployments). These little two week adventure trips aren't cutting it!"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**
