(03/13/06 - HOKE COUNTY) - Five men are behind bars after Hoke County Sheriff's deputies say they were helping illegal immigrants obtain phony ID's for a price.

Sheriff Hubert Peterkin says his deputies raided a mobile home on Purvis Court on March 6. Inside they found the illegal operation. "They had everything. They had the laminating they had the equipment to make this thing look good. We found around 49 -50 fake Social Security cards, 15 birth certificates, residential alien cards, and driver's license."

Eduardo Estrada, Jr., 24, Oliverio Tolintino Reyna, 18, Eucebio Reyna-Duran, 39, Domingo Rayon, 24, Avelino Herrera, 26, all face 49 counts of felony fraud.

Peterkin says his deputies are trying to determine if the phony IDs they found during the raid were stolen or made up.

While all five suspects face financial identity fraud, Avelino Herrera is facing an additional charge of possession with intent to sale and deliver cocaine.

All five suspects are in custody at the Hoke County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond.
