Arizona’s new employer sanctions law got a lot tougher Thursday afternoon as Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas and Sheriff Joe Arpaio signed an agreement to join forces in investigating possible employer violations.
The agreement grants the two officials’ agencies joint enforcement rights for the new employer sanctions law, which is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1.
