BRIDGETON - Police charged three men, including two suspected illegal immigrants, with robbing a man of cash and prescription pills at Pearl and Commerce streets Tuesday afternoon.

Police received the robbery report at 3:33 p.m. from a woman who witnessed the crime, Bridgeton Police Capt. Burl Kimble said.

The witness provided police with a description of the suspects getaway vehicle.

Police located the suspects in a white Mitsubishi SUV as it pulled into the Kentucky Fried Chicken/A&W fast-food restaurant at Pearl and Broad streets.

As officers approached the SUV, the driver reportedly blurted out, "I didn't do nothing to that guy. He asked for a ride to the liquor store."

Police drove the victim to the restaurant, where he identified the men as the robbers.

Police recovered $81 the rear passenger, 25-year-old Walnut Street resident Froilan Perez-Cruz, was attempting to conceal, Kimble said. The money was recovered as evidence.

The victim, a 54-year-old high-rise resident, told police he was robbed of approximately $90 and a pill bottle that contained 60 Percocets after he was shoved to the ground by two men.

The pills were not recovered, Kimble said.

Perez-Cruz and Isaias L. Zacarias-Lopez, 28, of Cohansey Street, were charged with robbery and simple assault. Both were lodged in the county jail without bail on detainers issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Bail for the charges relating to the alleged robbery was set for the two men at $75,000.

The driver, 24-year-old Cedarville resident Ramon Soriano, was charged with robbery and conspiracy. He was lodged in the county jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
