Man charged with habitual impaired driving, fleeing wreck

Cary, N.C. — A 40-year-old man faces charges of habitual impaired driving and fleeing from the scene of a wreck in Cary Saturday afternoon, according to an arrest warrant.

The warrant states that Miguel Romero Barajas, of 318 Cheswick Place, fled from a wreck on Southeast Maynard Road around 1 p.m. Saturday. Officers said that when they caught up with him, Barajas' breath smelled of alcohol, his speech was slurred, and his eyes were red and glassy. He refused a breathalyzer test.

Barajas was charged with being a habitual impaired driver, violating probation, driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license.

Immigration and Custom Services has placed a detainer on Barajas because he is suspected of being in the country illegally.

The Department of Correction lists Barajas as an absconder from probation or parole supervision. He has four convictions for DWI in Wake County since 2004.

That is nothing new. There are illegals arrested for that on a regular basis in Collier County and Broward County and you can find them online. At this point Broward County has 55 people with immigration holds for various offenses and some are like the one in this article. It is harder to access that info for the Dade County Jail or TGK.

There are no DUI laws in Messico UNLESS you are an American with money.
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson

I heard that when they were drunk the mules or donkeys knew the way home and took the owner there on their own. That is what people say in the comments in the Miami Herald after we have the usual weekly hit and run reports.
