Man convicted in fatal drunken driving crash
Aug 16, 8:35 AM EDT
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- A jury convicted a man in a drunken driving crash that killed two people, including the father of the groom, as a vehicle left a wedding reception at the Indianapolis Zoo.
The Marion County jurors needed just 25 minutes to convict Rosalio Pedraza, 32, in the August 2005 crash that killed Tom Youngstafel, 45, of Burlington, Ky., and Joe Gehler, 30, of Union, Ky., and injured a woman. Youngstafel was the father of the groom.
Pedraza had a blood-alcohol content about three times the legal limit for motorists in Indiana when he ran a red light and smashed into a sport utility vehicle leaving the wedding reception.
Youngstafel's wife, Judy Youngstafel, witnessed the accident from another car.
"He was going at such a high speed our car shook. We thought he had hit us," she said.
Pedraza was convicted of two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury. He was found to be a habitual offender because of two prior convictions for drunken driving, in November 2001 and October 2003.
Pedraza, who admitted he is in the country illegally, could face more than 50 years in prison when he is sentenced Aug. 25. He did not testify during his trial Monday.

It seems like we read something along these lines daily. I guess it will take an illegal killing someone of prominence to get action

Oh he's just misunderstood. He just wants to work and provide for his family.

You have to worry about people that are allowed to vote their own pay raises and refuse to consider term limits (what an operation)!"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**
