NC House panel OKs restricting foreign ID use

Photo identification cards issued by the Mexican consulate would no longer be considered valid ID to prove North Carolina residency for state services in legislation going to the House floor.

A judiciary committee agreed Wednesday to remove those cards from a list of documents that can be used to establish residency to get a driver's license, obtain auto insurance or enroll in Medicaid. The change also would apply to similar cards issued by foreign governments.

Illegal immigration opponents say the cards are unreliable to provide identification, pointing to federal law enforcement warnings. Supporters of the cards say they lead to improved relations between governments and Hispanics.

The bill passed on a 7-4 vote. The committee defeated an amendment that would have restored the ID use to get auto insurance.

This is interesting. I was in a Dollar Tree store yesterdayand I struck up a conversation with the cashier regarding illegal immigration (it was a slow day for her). I tend to do this everywhere I go in order to tell people about illegal immigration, about ALIPAC and provide links to other cites and tell them to pass the information along to everyone they know.

Anyway . . . . she told me a story about how a Pakistani National entered the store one day and wanted to pay with some type of card/number issued by her government. She said she kept trying to explain to the woman that this was America and that her card was not accepted by the store. The woman asked her to call the manager and claimed that she had used the card in various stores since she has been in the US. When the manager arrived she told the cashier to swipe the card to see what happened. WALLAH, the card was valid in the US and the woman was able to complete her purchase.

Apparently, there is more going on in this country than we are aware of.

    Scarey . . . . . .

Representative Debra Ross is a big member of the ACLU. She said that we should consider people from Honduras and Mexico as Americans too since they are in North America. North American States!

Representative Bill Faison said those of us supporting HB 33 had an "agenda" and we were not thinking through the consequences of our actions. He claimed that the farming interests were complaining about not having enough workers because of bills like this one.

Representative Larry Hall extolled the virtues of Durham, NC's efforts to let illegal aliens and others use the worthless Matricula Cards as ID for police since their pro Mexico police chief in Durham likes the idea and the Durham City Council recently approved the idea.

These four Democrats just voted contrary to the 77% of Americans found in Rasmussen polls in 2007 to oppose things like licenses and matricula ID cards for illegal aliens in America.

The new big gun from Mexico they sent up from Arizona to take on ALIPAC and NC Listen was there.

He got the royal treatment with six minutes of time, time to answer questions, and the powered volume podium.

In the end, we won 7-4 and HB 33 now heads to the floor of the house for a full vote!

"I sure hope the GOP controls the house!" Because everywhere else the house is where these bills have been dying a slow painful death!"
