Man killed while walking to pay phone

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Sheriff's deputies have no motive nor a suspect in the death of a Johns Island man who was shot and killed while walking to a pay phone near his home.

Tereso Vasquez Gonzalez, 46, was pronounced dead near a grocery store along a rural road, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Dottie Lindsay said.

He had been shot with a handgun sometime between 10:30 and midnight Sunday, authorities said.

Vasquez, a landscaper, had left to use a pay phone to call his family in Mexico, his roommate said. He was from the state of Oaxaca in Mexico and had four children and a grandchild in that country.

Sounds like this guy was probably an illegal.

Ya since wife and kids are in another country.......I'm sure there are probably exceptions.........but a reasonable conclusion.

It's just story after story of things really getting "rowdy" out there....people have had enough!
