A man who was pulled over on Interstate 70 near Marine in February was sentenced to federal prison time and deportation to Mexico.

Juan Gamino-Salinas, 25, a Mexican national, was sentenced Friday in the U.S. District Court in East St. Louis to three-and-a-half years in prison and deportation when he completes his federal prison time. He pleaded guilty in June to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, illegal re-entry after deportation, possession of a counterfeit permanent resident card and misuse of a social security number.

In February, Gamino-Salinas was pulled over and a search of the vehicle uncovered cocaine, methamphetamines, drug ledgers, $2,250 in cash, and drug paraphernalia which included two scales and dozens of small clear plastic bags.

An investigation determined that Gamino-Salinas has already been deported back to Mexico twice.

He has been in custody since his arrest in February.
