Man shot in Tijuana drives to the border

    UNION-TRIBUNE
    February 15, 2007

SAN YSIDRO: A U.S. citizen who said he was shot and wounded during a robbery in Tijuana drove to the International Border crossing at San Ysidro early yesterday and then was transported by paramedics to an area hospital.

The man was able to drive to the inspection checkpoint about 2 a.m. despite bleeding from a bullet wound to the upper body. The injury was not believed to be life-threatening. He told San Diego police that he was wounded during a home invasion robbery in Tijuana near his residence.

It was not clear why he sought treatment in the United States rather than closer to his Mexican home. San Diego police and U.S. customs officials were investigating.

Did you notice this is a U. S. citizen? A lot of our citizens go down there for various reasons. Some have 2nd homes, do business, whatever. But citizens of our country have been warned about traveling to TJ in recent months due to the violence. No way would I go down there for a cheap leather jacket right now.

Is it a possibility that US criminals are doing the same Mexican criminals, crossing the border for protection. If he was the one suspected of breaking into a house, he needs to back to to Mexico. I don't believe in open borders but I sure don't believe in using the border as a means of getting away with crimes.

Even though this guy is a US citizen, maybe he can pass for an illegal, and still get free healthcare(?) People now-a-days are very clever...too clever, if you ask me.

Has anyone considered the possibility that this guy is involved in the drug trade? As we all know, the drug trade business is very risky to ones health, especially in Mexico.
