Man wanted in death of border agent set free in Mexico
Man wanted in death of border agent apparently set free in Mexico
The Associated Press
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 06.25.2008
The head of the union representing U.S. Border Patrol agents says a man imprisoned in Mexico in connection with a Yuma-based agent's death has been released by a Mexican judge.
National Border Patrol Council president T.J. Bonner says an unidentified Mexican judge released Jesus Navarro for time served.
"Every Border Patrol agent in the country is outraged and stunned by this," Bonner said.
Border Patrol spokesmen in Washington did not return a call immediately, but the Department of Homeland Security was preparing a statement.
Navarro, arrested Jan. 22 in Mexico, was being held in a Mexicali prison. Mexico had sought him for allegedly smuggling migrants.
He was suspected of running over and killing Border Patrol agent Luis Aguilar on Jan. 19 as Aguilar tried to deploy spike strips to stop his drug-filled vehicle in southeastern California.

Statement by DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff Statement On Murder Suspect Release
Wednesday, 25 June 2008
We are shocked and appalled to learn that Jesus Navarro Montes was recently released by a Mexican Judge. Navarro Montes is a suspect in the murder of Border Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar. Agent Aguilar was killed in a heinous act of violence on January 19 in the Yuma Sector, while attempting to stop two vehicles that illegally entered the country and were absconding into Mexico.
We are working with a determined Mexican Government, and our Department of Justice, to seek swift justice for the Aguilar murder. We have also assured Agent Aguilar’s family that every resource is being called upon in the relentless pursuit of justice.
Agent Aguilar’s murder represents a tragic example of border violence. We are placing our highest priority on combating and ending the increase in violence, and the American public stands with the men and women of the Border Patrol.

Now you see why all of the criminals are loose on the streets of Mexico, while the citizens are held captive by them.

Exactly Dixie! Then they want 1.4 billion dollars from us to fight their crime. Put the judge in prison.

I think this is just plain f--ked up totally, when I heard this I could not believe this crap. And yet we are haveing two agents who are serving a long prison terms for just shooting an illegal drug runner in the butt. and mexico DEMANED they prosecute these agents, and yet they lied told half truths and not the full story, guess old Sutton forgot to mention that he was a drug runner huh? well, why doesnt the USA DEMAND that this creep be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but, the law in mexico is different, as long as a mexican kills a AMERICAN they get a few months but, yet if a druggy runner gets shot in the butt, mexico demands that the USA prosecutes. Shows you who is running AMERICA, sure in the hell aint the US government.
This is a major piss me off day. I am just furious, right now.

How much bribe money did it take to set Jesus Navarro Montes free?
