MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney held a town hall style meeting at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Grand Strand Campus in Myrtle Beach Saturday afternoon. His visit to the Grand Strand followed a similar visit to Charleston Saturday morning.

Gov. Nikki Haley joined Romney for his trip to the South Carolina coast.

Haley announced her endorsement of Romney Friday. She said she is looking for a partner in the White House.

Romney is the former governor of Massachusetts.

Romney's main message Saturday was about President Obama and the need for small government.

"I think he believes that it's government stepping in and telling small businesses what to do, what individuals should do, that's going to make us stronger," said Romney about President Obama. "He doesn't get it that America, and what makes us strong, is not our government telling us what to do, but a government allowing us to be free to follow our own passions. That's what makes America great."

In his opening speech, Romney also mentioned strengthening America's military, and he expressed concerns about the country's spending.

The presidential candidate also answered questions from the audience at Saturday's event in Myrtle Beach.

He touched on topics from health care, to energy, to education.

One topic that gained response from the audience concerned illegal immigration. Romney mentioned that he supports legal immigration. The presidential candidate said he wants to increase border control and crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants.
