Mark Levin scolds Gowdy, Goodlatte for putting ‘DREAMers’ over border security

Mark Levin scolds Gowdy, Goodlatte for putting ‘DREAMers’ over border security

On his Tuesday radio show, Mark Levin criticized two prominent Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee — Virginia Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the chairman of the committee and South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy — for putting the status of those brought to the United States as children of illegal immigrants ahead of securing the border.
Levin, author of the forthcoming book “The Liberty Amendments: Restoring the American Republic,” opened the third hour of his radio program by declaring Goodlatte and Gowdy to be “RINOs” — “Republicans in name only.”

“The House subcommittee — that would be a subcommittee controlled by the Republicans in the House, and headed by a Republican from Virginia, Bob Goodlatte — is caving, ladies and gentlemen,” Levin said. “So here we go with comprehensive immigration reform in pieces. And so they’ll pretend it’s not really comprehensive — that they’re addressing an issue at a time because we’re being condescended to by the House Republican leadership, including Mr. Goodlatte. But it’s not just Goodlatte. Many of you like this Trey Gowdy, right. You’ve seen him at the IRS hearing. He’s a former assistant U.S. attorney, I believe. Very effective, but sadly turns out he’s a RINO. Yes he is. Mr. Gowdy, yes you are.”

Levin went on to cite a Daily Caller story published Tuesday by Caroline May that showed some effort by Goodlatte and Gowdy to clear the way for a so-called “pathway to citizenship” for illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children. Levin gave particular focus to Goodlatte and Gowdy’s emotional pleas for some provision to reconcile the status of “DREAMers.”

“So the Democrats are pulling at heartstrings, the Republicans are pulling at heartstrings, and nobody, nobody wants to secure the border,” Levin said. “Right, Mr. Goodlatte? You’ve been there a long time. You’re chairman of the Judiciary Committee in the House. What have you done, Mr. Goodlatte, to secure the border? You know about the crime and the drugs and the kidnapping, Mr. Goodlatte?”

Levin also named House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and House Speaker John Boehner in his scathing critique of House Republicans failing to lead on border security.

“How about you, Mr. Gowdy?” he said. “You familiar with it? And what are you doing about it? The DREAM Act, is that going to fix it? Why is that your priority and not securing the border? You’re not deporting these once-children. So why is this the priority and not the safety of the American people, Mr. Gowdy and Mr. Goodlatte and Mr. [Eric] Cantor and Mr. [John] Boehner and the rest of you?”

“So here we have a Republican committee — Gowdy, Mr. Tough Guy on the IRS,” he added. “Mr. Weakling when it comes to the border. Tough guy, IRS. Weakling, border.”

Now you see why so many REAL conservatives love Mark Levin. He has always been there for us without wavering. He understands that you can not be a legitimate conservative or Constitutionalist and be for amnesty. Levin "gets it."

Why don't Mr. Gowdy and Cantor (Canter or whatever, I hope I have misspelled his name) Boehner and the rest of them do something useful with their mouths and put them around a bottle of beer. At least that will not cause hardships for us.
