By KVAL.com staff ASHLAND, Ore. -- A sheriff's deputy doing holiday weekend traffic safety enforcement stopped a Washington man in a new Toyota Camry with Nevada plates -- and found garbage bags full of $195,000 worth of marijuana.

Police arrested Elias Salvador Fuentes, 22, of Kent, Wash., on suspicion of Unlawful Possession, Delivery and Manufacturing of Marijuana.

A Jackson County sheriff's deputy stopped Fuentes at 7:30 a.m. last Thursday for a traffic violation south of Ashland.

With the help of Oregon State Police troopers, investigators located several large plastic garbage bags containing 65 individually wrapped 1-pound plastic bags of high grade marijuana in the trunk of the car.

The approximate value of the seized marijuana is estimated at $195,000, police said.
