A local campaign dedicated to cracking down on illegal immigration has decided on a new strategy.

The group, called "Citizens For Legal Communities," was founded by the father of Kevin Barnhill, who was allegedly murdered by illegal immigrants outside a Mason bar last year.

Since then, the group has tried to sway federal policies, but Wednesday night members decided to shift their focus to local governments, specifically Butler and Warren counties.

The group's first task will be asking local leaders to toughen penalties against landlords who rent to illegal immigrants and the employers who hire them.
