MCCAIN TAILED BY 'AMNESTY EXPRESS'

January 18, 2008 -- COLUMBIA, SC - The only thing that could stop John McCain's "Straight Talk Express" at this point is the little, white "Amnesty Truth Express" van that's following his bus around as he campaigns in this highly conservative state.

"Get John McCain to give you some real straight talk! Ask him why he wants to give amnesty to 12 million illegal aliens," shouts a man with a sign standing in the rain outside a McCain rally here yesterday.

Supporters of the Arizona senator listen to the rant before heading on in.

These die-hard loyalists have heard it all before, and most don't disagree with man on the sidewalk.

They're convinced that McCain has seen the error of his ways, yet also admire him for sticking to his positions.

Polls show that there are plenty of South Carolinians who plan to vote for him tomorrow who aren't these die-hards.

And the best way for a Republican rival to get between McCain and these soft supporters would be on immigration.

The bill he wrote to grant citizenship rights to the vast majority of illegal aliens in the United States is opposed by some 80 percent of South Carolina voters.

But McCain has been playing the issue smartly. When asked about "amnesty," he cleverly couches his response in his military bona fides.

"I'm not going to call up a soldier in Iraq risking his life for America to tell him we're deporting his mother because she's here illegally," McCain says flatly. "I'm just not gonna do that."

It's possibly the only answer that works in a state where devotion to the military trumps any and all toxic issues, be they race, immigration or anything else.

That response is a bunch of horse crap. Ok, Juan, what about the other 11,999,999 illegal aliens you refuse to acknowledge and are ruining the lives of law-abiding, tax-paying, legal citizens.

My question exactly, JDPA. Just what does a G.I.'s wife have to do with the 20 - 38 million illegal aliens in America? McCain, the wussy, who runs' from his record, refuses to acknowledge his record and won't run on his record because it would expose his liberalism and pro-amnesty past...tries to obfuscate and cover it with an inane answer. I fervently hope the average American is smarter than a 5th grader and can see right through this.

I think that completely absurd comment is going to play a major part in his losing.

What a fool. The more he talks, the less we have to point out why he would be a terrible president and why he will lose to Obama or Clinton.

McCain’s Immigration Insanity

McCain and Lieberman were recently on a PR campaign together in NH and lying through their teeth on McCain's immigration record. At a recent town hall meeting, McCain speaks for a while uttering his gibberish about illegal immigration and the illegal's are god's children (he obviously believes that they are a special type of god’s children and deserve some kind of extra compassion), etc. Lieberman takes the mike and says..."To say John McCain ever supported amnesty for illegal immigrants is a lie..." This is extremely disturbing that both of these Senators would try to deceive and directly lie to people for the express purpose of garnering votes. You can view this for yourself in this video:

McCain is trying to run from his actions and record. He is intentionally distorting (I call it lying) the irrefutable fact that he was a supporter of amnesty by claiming he was never for amnesty. He was a main architect, contributor and proponent of the Comphrensive Immigration Reform bills (s. 1348 and s. 1639) of 2007 that were written in order to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. McCain was so deep into the content and language of these bills that they were often referred to as the Kennedy-McCain Immigration Reform bills.

McCain has consistently supported amnesty for illegal aliens since at least 2003 as reported by hotair.com from a Tuscon Citizen article…“McCain Pushes Amnesty, Guest-Worker Program,â€

I'm glad to see that some informed people are trying their best not to let McCain get away with his lying and obfuscation. And for this character to call himself the "straight talk express" is beyond absurd. He is anything but.

McCain is a pro-amnesty zealot.
