Lou Dobbs Tonight
Wednesday, April 16, 2008

Tonight, we’ll have full coverage of the Pope’s visit to the
United States, including his meeting with President Bush at the
White House.

And we’ll have all the latest from the campaign trail, ahead of
tonight’s Democratic debate, just days before the Pennsylvania
primary. Plus:

* Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted immigration
raids in various states today, cracking down of employers of
illegal aliens. The raids come as pro-illegal alien groups are
protesting the law being enforced and demanding that
immigration law be ignored.

* A House committee is meeting today on the repercussions of
globalizing and allowing foreign ownership of our defense
industry. This hearing comes amid questions surrounding the Air
Force’s decision to award a key defense contract to a foreign
country.

* Los Angeles is embroiled in a controversy over Special Order
40, which prevents police from obtaining the immigration status
of suspects in custody. Two L.A. city council members are
asking for more flexibility – especially when it comes to
checking the immigration status of gang members.

Today, we’ll have the latest from the presidential campaigns
ahead of tonight’s debate between Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen.
Barack Obama. The head of the machinists union tells Lou why
the Northwest-Delta merger is bad for workers and passengers.
And Steven Greenhouse, author of The Big Squeeze, will join Lou
to talk about the plight of U.S. workers
