MCSO assists U.S. Customs and Border Protection find boat with migrants near Hobe Sound

MARTIN COUNTY ― A Martin County Sheriff's Office marine unit assisted U.S. Customs and Border Protection in finding a boat carrying 12 Haitian migrants 4 miles off the coast of Hobe Sound Friday.






A Martin County Sheriff's Office marine unit assisted U.S. Customs and Border Patrol find a boat carrying 12 migrants from Haiti, according to sheriff's officials.

The Sheriff's Office released no information on what capacity the marine unit was assisting the federal agency.

Sheriff's officials said the U.S. Coast Guard was en route around 2 p.m. to take custody of the people "at which time they will be processed then taken back to their homeland."

Neither U.S. Customs and Border Protection nor the U.S. Coast Guard responded to requests for information Friday.

Why aren't they ALL taken back to their homeland, including those coming illegally over our southern border!

This is outrageous.

Stop picking and choosing, deport them all.
