County to coordinate with Mexico on TB

Official travels to Mexico to focus on cross-border travel

SAN DIEGO — The county is planning to send an employee to Mexico to work with government officials there on public health issues including the transmission of tuberculosis.

County supervisors this week voted to authorize the travel of a public health services staffer who specializes in tuberculosis control to Mexico City to meet with Mexican officials involved in a bi-national tuberculosis referral program. The program helps ensure that tuberculosis patients who are traveling between the two countries continue to receive care and that information is exchanged between providers in the two nations, according to the county’s website.
