MIGUEL ALEMAN, MEXICO - Two men caught with weapons and explosives are behind bars in Mexico.

Mexico's Attorney General says Héctor GarcÃ*a Guzmán and Jiménez López Omar were found with this arsenal of goods in Miguel Aleman. The weapons included seven AK-47's. six grenades and a load of ammunition.

Officials say the weapons are used exclusively for the Mexican army, navy and air force.

The men were arrested at a gas station after a clash with police. They are being held in a Reynosa jail. Authorities say the men were driving a truck with Texas plates.

There are cars and trucks with plates from all over the U.S. driving around Mexico.
Just as there are cars and trucks with Mexican plates driving around the U.S.
If I go to Mexico on vacation (which I would never do.) I can drive with my CA. plates in Mexico.

That is correct, but why have items/ A-K 47's that is mostly used by army Troops? Who are the men that was occupying the truck and what were their intentions? Obviously, they are criminals, otherwise they would not have fought with police officers.

Mexican authorities announced Saturday the arrest of two men in possession of a small weapons cache in Miguel Aleman, Tamps.

Hector Garcia Guzman and Omar Jimenez Lopez were charged with possession of firearms and explosives that are restricted for military use, according to a news release from Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office.

The two men are being held at the Reynosa prison pending trial.

They were arrested near a gas station at the intersection of ValentÃ*n Barrera and Manuel Hinojosa Streets after a brief clash with a military convoy on routine patrol.

During a search of the men’s vehicle, soldiers found seven AK-47 assault rifles, six fragmentation grenades, 135 ammunition magazines and more than 4,000 ammunition rounds for AK-47 assault rifles, according to the news release.

The vehicle was described as a Dodge pickup with Texas license plates.
