Mexican Authorities Seize Weapons South of Matamoros

YESCAS, MEXICO - Mexican authorities seized weapons after a shooting just south of Matamoros.

Authorities say gunmen opened fire at a customs building in Yescas. After the shooting, the gunmen took off. Authorities say the gunman later abandoned the vehicle they were in and tried to carjack a family.

Two people were killed in the carjacking. A third was injured.

Members of the Mexican navy searched the car that had been abandoned by the suspects and found an AK-47 and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

The gunmen got away.
