Mexican Cocaine Dealer Caught In North Carolina

NASH COUNTY, NC (WITN)- A traffic stop along Interstate 95 leads to drug trafficking charges against a man.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office says that Jose Nino De Guzman, 38, of Fort Myers, Florida, has been charged with trafficking cocaine, PWISD cocaine, maintaining a vehicle, counterfeit trademark violation, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Officials say that Deputy J.S. Winstead with the highway interdiction team stopped a vehicle heading south on I-95 for speeding.

During the stop, officials say it was believed that criminal activity was present which resulted in a search.

During the search, deputies say they recovered a .38 special revolver, 157 grams of cocaine, various drug paraphernalia, and $8,800 worth of counterfeit clothing, sunglasses and other merchandise.

Nino De Guzman is being held on a $235,000 bond.
