Mexican convicts returned after prison escape
    March 30, 2005, 09:04 AM CST

Two Mexican convicts captured in Arizona after escaping from a prison near the border have been returned to Mexico.

Charges in federal court against Rene Ozuna Huicosa, 31, and Lorenzo Perez Lugo, 27, were dismissed on Monday so the men could be returned to Mexico, said U.S. Attorney's Office spokeswoman Sandy Raynor.

The men were captured near Nogales, Ariz., on March 22 as part of a group of illegal immigrants who were caught trying to enter the United States.

A Border Patrol agent initially noticed Perez looked like one of the fugitives, and the men later admitted their true identities
