U.S. Border Patrol Cracking Under Pressure to Find Recruits
by William Lajeunesse
A mandate to hire 6,000 new border agents by the end of 2008 has lowered qualification tests, concentrated four months of training into 10 weeks and is raising concerns that recruits won't get the proper training they need to protect the borders.
Richard Pierce, executive vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, a union that represents 11,000 rank-and-file agents, said the guidelines don't allow time for proper training of new agents.
“The field training program is largely computer-based ... it’s not the hands-on approach this job requires,â€

Read somewhere recently they're even recruiting with our troops in Germany.
Didn't Bush offer some BP agents jobs in Iraq too? It's become very apparent he is more interested in helping protect borders of other countries than ours.
Not surprised they're having a hard time finding new agents. Be different if the current administration supported and backed the BP.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Why seek employment with the Border Patrol? If you do your job you risk going to prison.

According to the Border Patrol's website, the academy no longer requires a high school diploma or GED for entrance, and passing test grades have been lowered from 85 percent to 70.
It almost sounds as if they are lowering their requirements in an effort to attract anchor babies into their ranks.
I wonder if soon they will abolish the requirement that one has to be a US Citizen to applyJoin our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Pretty soon it will be alright if you have a record as a felon.

Border Patrol Recruiting at Military Bases

SHARE THIS: DEL.ICIO.US | DIGG | STUMBLEUPON The Border Patrol is looking for a few thousand good men and women at U.S. military bases in Germany. The Border Patrol is under pressure to hire an additional 2,500 agents by the end of the year. KPBS reporter Amy Isackson has the story.
It's the first time the Border Patrol has ventured abroad to recruit agents.
In 2006, President George Bush announced the Border Patrol would add 6,000 agents by the end of 2008.
Lloyd Easterling is an Assistant Chief with the Border Patrol. He says they have a ways to go to meet that goal.
Lloyd Easterling, Border Patrol: We've become more aggressive. For instance, the team that is going over to Germany. What it is, is it makes sense. People getting out of the military need a job. And it is something that still allows them to continue the defense and the mindset of defending the homeland.
The Border Patrol has taken other measures to attract recruits. They raised the age limit for new agents from 36 to 39. They also slashed a month and a half off training for agents who speak Spanish.
The agency's attrition rate has been a stumbling block for hiring. About one in 11 agents quit since last October.

i dont think id want to be a BP either, because im sure myself and others who are tired of the invasion could and would have a rather itchy trigger finger
and think about this, if you went to train in Artesia NM, you might be trained by the BP agent who snitched on Ramos and Compean and was the dope runners friend.
