PHOENIX - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is calling a Nov. 8 recall election for Senate President Russell Pearce, known nationally for sponsoring legislation against illegal immigration.

Brewer's action late Tuesday was expected because elections officials certified last week that opponents of Pearce had collected enough signatures to force the recall election.

Pearce says he'll remain in office and campaign actively for retention by voters in his legislative district.

Statement from Senate President Russell Pearce

“I spoke with Governor Jan Brewer’s office regarding my potential recall election. While I know her role is basically ministerial in this process, I conveyed my support of her calling the election on November 8, 2011.
“I intend to remain in office. Additionally, my legal team has not yet completed its analysis of the certification process undertaken by the County Recorder and the Secretary of State. Arizona law allows me until July 18 to make a legal challenge.
“In the weeks and months ahead, I will campaign actively to promote and defend my long record of promoting economic recovery, job creation, balanced budgets, law enforcement and secure borders. These are the issues that my constituents believe in and why they have voted 16 times to send me to the legislature.
“I have never lost an election and will fight these outside forces that support lax law enforcement, amnesty and open borders.â€
    Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

The power against any kind of enforcement of our immigration laws in this country never ceases to amaze me.

Good luck to you State Senator Russell Pearce.

Arizona's borders have already been ravaged by illegal immigrants overrunning the state. Many talented, educated and honest people from countries OTHER THAN MEXICO are waiting patiently in line to enter America. They are obtaining visas, taking tests, abiding by waiting periods, and learning English. Why are some so driven in their need to open our border to people who are uneducated, unskilled, often unmotivated, and increasingly unlawful, to walk into America, sit down at our table of citizenship and demand to have the American government or the State Government supply them with, housing, food stamps, education, and an everlasting laundry list of entitlements, which we can ill afford. Many immigrants from China and Russia would be willing to sign agreements NEVER to ask for ANY government assistance in ANY area EVER...just for the right to become an American. I think Arizona had better reassess their slavish love for the whole Hispanic Entitlement Club. American citizenship is a privilege NOT a right, coveted the world over. Don't give it away to anyone who is capable of jumping the border fence.
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson
