This is exactly why "comprehensive" immigration reform (i.e., AMNESTY) will never work and we can never agree to this.

Rather, ENFORCE EXISTING LAW -- a radical concept.

Rep. Goode was on Lou Dobbs today and said this judge is completely wrong on this, that this is a law and has been for years and Homeland security and SS security have every right to carry this out.

He said he does not understand at all what this judge thinks he is doing or how he came to this conclusion and that it is nothing more than big business trying to stop law enforcement.

He said legals and citizens have plenty of time to fix any problems and should welcome the opportunity to do so.

I was glad to hear this statement from a U.S. congressman as he is the first one I have heard speak out on the subject.

In our area a lcal nurseryman said on the evening news broadcast that he would not be able to run his business without illegal aliens. My reaction is SO WHAT!! They have no guaranteed right that they can have their own business in the first place. Businesses in the US have failed often for a whole assortment of reasons. Not being able to hire illegal immigrants ranks near the bottom of my list as a justification to bail out somebody's business venture.

I'm more concerned with the struggling US citizen who is forced to compete with ultra cheap labor that invites itself in to this country. I've discovered that a number of contributors to this forum have suffered serious job losses due to illegal immigrants taking their employment away.

A lot of these guys around here don't even work most of the time. They just hire numerous illegals to do the work and they might drive by the job once a day just to see who showed up that day. They absolutely wouldn't be in business if they didn't have their imported slave class to do the work for them. Really makes me wonder some times if I am making the right choice doing things the legal way. While I'm out there sweating and trying to compete with these guys and they're driving around in new trucks acting like plantation owners.

A caller to a local talk show expressed how he couldn't find workers and had to hire illegals. The host put out a call for anyone who wanted a job in construction. At last count, they were over 80 calls with more still coming in, so the whole thing is a lie. The draw is they are cheap and they are "slave like", in the manner they can be totally controlled and told how long and when to work and are extremely complaint. If they were legalized, all that would totally go away. Sometimes I'm baffled why they the employers want amnesty because they would lose all the benefits of hiring illegals. Of course, they would just go out and hire the "new" illegals that just arrived.

Stick to your principles, and do not stoop to the level of these traitors who are willing to sell out their country for profit. You are absolutely right. They are behaving like plantation owners. Their greed has lowered them to the despicable level of slave owners.

We are witnessing 21st Century American Slavery. No, these slaves aren't in shackles or beaten with whips. No, they aren't forced to relinquish their identities or sever ties with family. Babies aren't being ripped from their mother's arms, or any of the other atrocities. Nevertheless this is a form of slavery. The sad reality is these slaves are oblivious to the fact that they are slaves.

The same evil mentality that enabled slavery to flourish in this country in the past has once again reared its ugly head. The addiction to "free" labor wasn't easily defeated then, and the addiction to "cheap" labor will not be easy to defeat now. It is truly a sad time in America.
