Burglars vandalize home of family of jailed ex-Border Patrol agent,
open gas lines in house
Times staff report
Posted: 01/16/2009 04:12:51 PM MST
EL PASO - The wife of one of two ex-El Paso Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting a man says her home was broken into and vandalized earlier this month.
Monica Ramos, wife of Ignacio Ramos, said in an interview on blogtalkradio.com that the family was robbed and that the intruders opened up the gas lines inside the home on Jan. 3.
The two ex-Border Patrol agents, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, have been in jail nearly two years.
In October, Ramos was sentenced again to 11 years while Compean was sentenced to 10 years in prison after the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ordered Ramos and Compean to be resentenced after the appeals court dropped a tampering-with-evidence conviction. The dropped conviction did not change their overall sentence.
At the time of their resentencings in El Paso, the U.S. District Court judge reiterated the amount of time the two ex-agents were sentenced to could not change because one of the charges they were convicted of contained a mandatory 10-year sentence.
Both agents were found guilty of discharging a firearm during the act of a crime, an offense that includes a mandatory 10-year sentence. Ramos was sentenced to an additional year because he was also convicted of an assault charge.

it amazes me that the comments on the website are so against this woman and her family.
even someone claiming to be in the military in Iraq says bad things about the family

Wrote to them the following:
I honestly don't understand the point of the story. A family was robbed and gas lines were opened during the robbery. But the main focus of the article seems to be on the two jailed border patrol agents, their "heinous" crime.
If these are your leading paragraphs, they are extremely slanted. If you are writing about a home invasion, you write about the effects of that on the people present, without writing about two men not present during this home invasion.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Here are my comments to the EP Times:
I find it unconscionable that mexicans make excuses for other mexicans who commit crimes. That is pure racism and the same people have a lot of nerve leveling race charges against White People who just want their country back, free of CRIMINALS!
These same people to to church and pretend to be holy, after aiding and abetting drug-dealers, drunk drivers, murderers, child rapists and other assorted pirates.I didn't leave the Republican Party. The party left me. Inspired by Ronald Reagan
