    Mexicans protest border fence

    Mexicans protest border fence

Yahoo! Buzz Digg Newsvine Reddit FacebookWhat's this?PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Mexico (AP) — The first of 400,000 trees are being planted to form a "green wall" in protest of the fence the U.S. is building along the border with Mexico.
The treeline will eventually stretch for 318 miles along the border between the Mexican state of Coahuila and Texas.

Coahuila Gov. Humberto Moreira Valdes says "our wall is of life, and it competes with shame and hate."

The U.S. government says its fence is critical to security. Critics say it fuels animosity between the two countries and raises environmental and private property concerns.

The mayor of a Texas border town attended Friday's tree planting in Piedras Negras. Eagle Pass Mayor Chad Foster opposes the ongoing construction of 670 miles of border fence.

Americans should plant some cacti on the U.S. side of the fence.

Uh, I'm really confused. President Calderon asked the U.S. for help in shutting down gun trafficking between the U.S. and Mexico. Exactly how are we supposed to do that without a wall? They also objected to our using of the National Guard to patrol the border.

Now, for a country demanding billions to protect their own southern border accompanied by a demand that we not meddle with how they spend it, are they really in any position to tell us how to do things?

In addition, how would they suggest we stem the flow of gun traffic without a wall or military presence?

It's not the fence/wall that fuels animosity between our countries, it's the millions upon millions of illegal aliens having millions upon millions of anchor babies on OUR DIME that fuels the animosity!

Maybe they feel that they can climb the trees to make it over the fence???????????????

The only shame is in the 20 to 30 million illegals invading a sovereign nation.
