Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva, an Arizonan, spurred the calls to boycott Arizona's businesses but lawmakers back home don't share his sentiment. AP

Arizona’s political leaders are hoping that groups upset by its new immigration law don’t follow through on boycotts of the state.

Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva, an Arizonan, spurred the boycott calls but Republicans and Democrats from the state who spoke to POLITICO said they don’t share Grijalva’s sentiments.

“With Arizona’s economy already struggling – and thousands of Arizonans out of work – it is the height of irresponsibility and arrogance for a federal official to encourage a boycott of Arizona businesses,â€

Don't worry Arizona, over 70% of folks agree with Gov. Brewer's signing of SB 1070 and aren't even considering a boycott.

The media likes to ignite readers, that's how they make their living. Except for the goofy group of attorneys who cancelled hotel rooms in Scottsdale I doubt seriously that your state will notice any decline in tourism, or sales.

We love Arizona, we love how Arizona has handled a horrible situation at the border for years with patience, waiting for that "virtual fence", and even the National Guard, and most of all waiting for the Federal government to do what the constitution directs them to do "Keep the United States citizens safe."

Once the hoopla over May lst is finished and hispanic marchers with their Mexican flags and no signs in English have packed up and gone home from some American cities, the media will look for another area to cause a frenzy in people who don't ask questions, and obviously don't read.

Take heart, we are for you, not against you.

They were not normal attorneys, they were immigration lawyers!! Of course they hate the new law.

I think overall the law will be great of Arizona's economy.

I saw today that they are talking about Arizona iced tea. Here’s the kicker: Apparently it’s actually made in New York City. Oops!
I would never be so arrogant as to move to another country and expect them to change for me.

no Raul, your blind to the obvious. american people are sick and tired of the BS. and since you love the illegals, your the one who is getting death threats, and calls demanding you apologize to the people YOU are supposed to represent because any slow down in tourism will hurt their jobs and lifestyle and might put people out of work.

    THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK, RAUL

I've been trying to find something made in Arizona to buy, I have found a few companies and have researched their companies and several are guilty of hiring illegals, for instance Scottsdale Art a furniture manufacturer had 8 so called American artisans arrested for stolen I.D.s and false documentation last year, don't know if they have changed their policies of hiring true American Artisans,So be careful. I'll keep looking.
