Thread: Mexico’s Pena Nieto, Trump speak by phone, to meet Jan. 31

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone Saturday and are scheduled to meet later this month, officials announced.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the meeting would take place Jan. 31, and Trump and Pena Nieto are to discuss trade, immigration and security.

Pena Nieto’s office issued a statement saying the phone conversation happened in the morning.

It said he congratulated Trump on his inauguration and expressed willingness to work for the benefit of both countries “with a focus on respect for the sovereignty of both nations and shared responsibility.”

Pena Nieto also reiterated his interest in maintaining dialogue. A high-level Mexican delegation is scheduled to hold talks with Trump administration officials in Washington Jan. 25-26.

Trump has promised to build a wall along the United States’ southern border and make Mexico pay for it. He has also threatened some companies with a border tariff on products manufactured in Mexico and exported to the United States.

Mexican officials have repeatedly said the country will not pay for a border wall.

Trump and Pena Nieto met in Mexico City in late August during the campaign.

That's good they're meeting so soon. Need to set the agenda to a official plan on our part and encourage Mexico to do what they say which is recognize the sovereignty of our nation.

So...we get our troops on the border...Mexico gets their troops on the border.

Damn straight, we will!!! This is easy stuff when you think about it. It really is. This is not rocket-science, this is not WWII, this is the simple physical job of securing our borders and deporting illegal aliens. It's a physical task. Shoes and boots on the ground. And more than plenty of Americans ready, willing and able to GET R DONE and KEEP R DONE 24/7/365.

And when Trump says Islamic Terrorism will be wiped from the face of earth, and his opponents say "oh that's so hard, it will take years, maybe forever", he knows they're idiots. Same thing. Easy stuff. These people stand out in a crowd like a huge nasty fart. You just have to look for 'em and take 'em out.
