Mexico arrests 61 illegal Central American immigrants

MEXICO CITY, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Sixty-one illegal immigrants from Central America were detained in southeastern Mexico on Wednesday, authorities said.

The immigrants -- 35 Guatemalans, 19 Ecuadorians and seven Salvadorians -- were not able to prove their legal stay in Mexican territory when they were stopped in the southeastern state of Chiapas, the Federal Public Security Ministry said in a statement.

The immigrants, traveling for many hours inside a cargo truck that was transporting plastic goods, were dehydrated when they were arrested.

After receiving medical care and food, they were sent to the National Institute of Migration (INM) in Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital of Chiapas, to be later repatriated.

About 7,000 illegal immigrants from Central America are detained in Mexico every year, the INM said. The immigrants seek to get to the United States via Mexico for better life conditions, it said.

Well, well, well, where are the activists moaning and whining about mexico violating their "human rights"? I guess it isn't a "human rights" violation when mexico enforces its laws, eh?

We all know mexico will do all it can to make sure nobody EXCEPT mexicans sneak into US. After all, their entire economy depends on the taxpayer money their "beloved citizens" can steal from us.

Hypocrisy at its best. Calderon telling us we have to accept the illegals from his country, and to deport them is inhumane. The Mexican Government even has gone so far as to hand out "how to" literature to make sure their citizens coming to our country illegally don't miss out an a single handout. My my my, isn't this the pot calling the kettle black.

Maybe we should thank Mexico. That's 61 illegal aliens who got stopped before they broke into our country.
