SALT LAKE CITY

SECURE forces say they have captured the main target in a months-long investigation and only Fox 13 was there to watch the arrest.

Officers say Rene Jiminez supplied illegal weapons to illegal immigrants, including the seizure of nearly a dozen handguns and ammo from Raul Reyes and Andres Pulido.

"We were able to infiltrate this group who were moving various weapons throughout the community," said SECURE Strike Force agent Rhet McQuiston. "[Jiminez] was definately high up on the food chain on this case."

Jiminez used a cell phone kiosk to hide his gun-running operation, only selling weapons to a select clientele.

"Individuals that reside in this country illegally, were purchasing firearms from the cell phone store," said McQuiston.

This case is one of numerous arrests SECURE forces have made in the last month. Agents have stopped a fake ID mill, busted a DVD bootlegging operation and make several arrests, each criminal in the US illegally.

"A lot of cases that were months in the making all started to come to fruition," said McQuiston.

SECURE agents are relying on members of the Latino community for tips; tipsters who know SECURE agents won't be checking their immigration status.

"They don't want drug dealers or gun runners in their neighborhood, people producing fake ID cards," said McQuiston. "They have children just like we do."
