Life-size cutouts of Arpaio appearing around Tucson (with pics)




TUCSON, AZ - Life-size cutouts that appear to look like Sheriff Joe Arpaio and another border enforcement agent have been appearing at major intersections around Tucson.

Three of the cutouts show what appears to be a law enforcement officer holding a suspect on his knees at gun point. Three others show another law enforcement officer holding a woman and a young boy at gunpoint.

So what are these cutouts depicting? According to an unsigned news release sent to News 4, the cutouts are intended to raise the level of awareness surrounding the illegal immigration law enforcement debate.

It also says, "While the installation draws particular attention to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Border Patrol officer Nicholas Corbett, these men are intended to represent our nation's legacy of systemic violence and racism."

A Tucson Police Department spokesman says the cutouts were taken down for a variety of reasons, ranging from public safety to right of way concerns. TPD also says an investigation is underway on the installations.

The cutouts were placed at major intersections including Campbell & River, Speedway & Country Club, Broadway & Wilmot, St. Mary's & Stone, 22nd & 2nd Ave, and Mission & 22nd.

Some of these left wing idiots will stop at nothing to try an force them to quit enforcing any laws in this country anymore....they don't care if they turn us into the country they fled.

Guess these slimeballs are not very proud of their work or position, they did not sign the press release.

How big an issue are the pro-illegal invader groups making this in AZ? I would have to imagine that the majority of Americans in AZ have no problem with the tactics Sheriff Joe has implemented in order to rid AZ of illegal invaders! I would give anything to have a Sheriff like Joe in Los Angeles!

Sheriff Joe is Incredibly popular with the U S citizens and also our invited lega immigrants in AZ...As for illegal aliens, or anyone for that matter, who doesnt like Sheriff Joe, they can go to hell...

I would agree with your comment William, except that if anti-illegal immigrant forces starting placing cut-outs of illegals around town "doing the jobs Americans won't do" Sheriff Joe's men would be busy answering calls for cut-outs climbing in windows, cut-outs breaking car glass, cut-outs dealing on the corners, and cut-outs blocking traffic. Imagine the confusion it would cause!

Now a line of cut-outs appearing before dawn one morning at the Social Services office might be acceptable...

The problem is that unless you portray them as WASP the ACLU and other human rights groups will descend like locusts. Now if they are portrayed as WASP no one will give it a second thought. I noticed no one cried racism when the Sheriff Joe cut-outs appeared however.

This is silly! Cartoonish cutouts are probably meant to appeal to those that are illiterate. Just like the Mexican government giving out comic books to illegals on how to get across the border.
