NOGALES - Agents at the Nogales port of entry in southeastern Arizona say they stopped six separate drug smuggling attempts over the weekend.

In all, agents seized more than 51 pounds of cocaine, 560 pounds of marijuana and four pounds of heroin.

The first seizure came early Friday morning, when U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found several packages of cocaine weighing more than 51 pounds in the car of a 44-year-old woman from Mexico.

Later the same day, they found two pounds of heroin hidden in the shoes of a 14-year-old Mexican boy, and soon after that, two more pounds of heroin in the shoes of an 18-year-old from Mexico.

Officers also found more than 560 pounds of marijuana combined in the cars of two different women, one from Phoenix and one from Mexico.

All drugs and vehicles were seized, and the suspects were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
