Do you see a Mexican political agenda here? I find it quite telling that the Mexican government treats it's citizens like dirt and indentured servants in Mexico. So what does Mexico do? Instead of actually working on reforms to improve the situation in Mexico, they actively encourage their nationals to break and enter our country and sponge off the American system in order to further their existence. Of course, once their nationals criminally enter our country they can do no wrong and every situation their banditos become involved in becomes a racist and human rights issue.

According to the agent, 23-year-old Jose Alejandro Ortiz Castillo threatened him with a rock and bolt cutters - at which point he fired his gun several times.
Instead of shooting Castillo, would the Mexican government preferred if the border agent used a "rock" and "bolt cutters" instead?

What is a border agent supposed to do for protection when threatened by a criminal?

IMO, Border Patrol agents need to be dressed in full combat gear INCLUDING HELMETS! It is long past time. Are they even wearing bullet proof vests? A rock to the skull is deadly force and should be met with the same. They need to be wearing combat helmets, they really do. I have seen people recovering from head injuries and it is not a pretty sight.

Witness claims wrong person shot at border, lawyer says

EL PASO, Texas — A Mexican woman who witnessed a fatal border shooting claims the U.S. Border Patrol shot the wrong man, a lawyer in the case said Friday.

Laura Contreras Escarcega told her lawyer that she was kneeling on the ground as ordered by a Border Patrol agent when one of the men she was traveling with picked up a rock. Then she said she saw a Border Patrol agent shoot another man, the group's suspected smuggler, her immigration lawyer Maricela Garcia said.

The Border Patrol on Friday denied the wrong man was shot.

Jose Alejandro Ortiz Castillo, a 23-year-old man who had been caught crossing the border 28 times since 1999, was shot twice as he allegedly led Contreras, her brother-in-law and another man through a hole in the fence that divides El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Mexican police found Ortiz's body on the south side of the Rio Grande after the Aug. 8 shooting.

Border Patrol officials have said the unidentified agent shot Ortiz, who was carrying a pair of bolt cutters, after seeing him pick up a rock as Contreras was being arrested.

Garcia, an attorney with the United Neighborhood Organization, a group that provides free legal services for immigration court hearings, said Contreras made the claim during interviews before an immigration hearing.

Contreras voluntarily returned to Mexico on Thursday, and Garcia said the 25-year-old Chihuahua City woman was being interviewed by Mexican authorities.

Doug Mosier, a Border Patrol spokesman in El Paso, said Contreras' allegation "is not consistent with the preliminary findings that resulted from the interviews of the witness done by multiple law enforcement agencies immediately after the shooting."

The case has been turned over the U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton's Office. Daryl Fields, a spokesman for Sutton's office, said the case is still under review.

Mexican officials have previously decried the shooting and have said they intended to investigate the case as a homicide.

...Yeah, sure. Now there's a credible witness. An illegal alien border crosser coached by both Mexico and immigration lawyers as to what to say. ALERT!!!...more lies, more "humanitarian" visa border passes, more Johnny Sutton obfuscation and shredding of facts. And it's a concerted efort by the Bush Administration, Mexico, immigration lawyers, ilegal alien advocacy groups and Johnny Sutton's office to descredit and demoralize the Border Control rank and file.

I think we should end these articles with President Bush responsible and trying to bring about SPP.

That is what this is about. President Bush is to blame. It seems the poor border agents have jobs that the President does not want them to have or he would be backing this kind of action by the border agent and telling Mexico we are sending their people back and to get away from our border.

But is he? Nope. He is twiddling this thumbs until he gets the SPP passsed.

We need to make a stink now about this. Bush's agenda SPP is killing the people in our nation. He is not protecting us from Mexico. That is his job. This is an invasion. He knows this but chooses not to help us.
