Mexico protests Texas National Guard troops on US border

Mexico City (AFP) - Mexico's foreign ministry late Friday protested Texas Governor Rick Perry's deployment of National Guard troops to the southern US border to halt the surge of child migrants.

Mexico "reiterates, in a firm and categorical way, its rejection of this measure," read a statement from the foreign ministry.

"No circumstance at all or change in border security exists that justifies this measure taken by the state."

The troop deployment "does not contribute in any way to solving the immigration problem," and is inconsistent with US-Mexico talks aimed at "building a modern, prosperous and safe border," the statement read.

On Thursday Perry deployed some 1,000 National Guard troops to the border with Mexico.

National Guard troops are soldiers under the authority of the state governor. They cannot detain undocumented migrants, which is a federal responsibility, but they can take over some duties that allows more US Border Patrol agents to monitor the borderline.

Perry, a Republican and a likely candidate for the 2016 presidential race, has taken a hard line against immigrant children seeking to enter the United States from Central America.

At least 57,000 unaccompanied children, most from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, have crossed the border into the United States illegally since October, triggering a migration crisis that has sent US border and immigration authorities into a frenzy.

Perry said the decision to deploy troops was taken after repeated requests to the federal government to secure the US border.

Mexico is worried that they cannot prevent their own, the cartels from confronting the NG. Not our fault their government is weak! I am so tired of their politicians and ours holding us responsible for Mexico's weakness. We should be already actively holding Mexico responsible for he death of BP Vega. I would ADVISE THAT NO ONE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE BORDER FIRE UPON THE NG. If America will not stand up for our people in the nations uniform we truly have lost our national identity.

Mexico protests any attempt to enforce our immigration laws. We have been their release valve for too long. Their energy should be in fixing their own country and quit depending upon us to help their people.

They want the people, the drugs, the cartels, the little educated, the low skilled, the criminals, the unskilled to continue to flow freely out across our border so that the money in the billions will continue to flow inside their nation. They care nothing about what any of it does to the United States and we stupidly just keep repeating the same mistakes.
    Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

I am beginning to truly believe that the cartels do, in fact, run Mexico and the politicians are just paid flunkys.

'Hypocritical' Mexico Slams Texas' Deployment of National Guard on Border

by Kristin Tate 18 Aug 2014, 11:40 AM PDT
    breitbart

HOUSTON, Texas -- Late last week Mexico's foreign ministry vocalized strong opposition to the presence of the National Guard at the Texas-Mexico border amid the current border crisis.

A statement from the foreign ministry reportedly said that Mexico "reiterates, in a firm and categorical way, its rejection of this measure. No circumstance at all or change in border security exists that justifies this measure taken by the state."

The statement further asserted that the National Guard's being at the border "does not contribute in any way to solving the immigration problem," according to the AFP.

Texas Governor Rick Perry deployed National Guard troops along the border after the federal government ignored Texas' multiple requests for additional resources to help secure its border with Mexico.

Breitbart Texas Contributing Editor and border security expert Sylvia Longmire said that the ministry's protest of the National Guard "hypocritical," especially considering that "the Mexican government deployed its own army to deal with drug cartels eight years ago. That army also has a history of crossing over into U.S. territory over 300 times in the last 10 years--something the U.S. National Guard has never done."

"Of course, the Mexican army isn't defending its northern border from southbound floods of armed drug smugglers and illegal immigrants," Longmire continued. "However, the Mexican government has the sovereign right to use a military solution to its criminal insurgency, and it has never had a problem declaring their sovereign rights. It's almost insulting for Mexico to say it's offended by the U.S. exerting its own sovereign right to deploy National Guard troops to the southwest border, regardless of what they're being used for."

The current border crisis involves tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors from Central American countries entering the U.S. illegally. Since October 2013, almost 60,000 foreign minors have crossed the border.

In response to what has been called a "humanitarian crisis," authorities have been ordered to transport all foreign minors to federal facilities while they wait to be processed. During their time in such housing units, the migrants receive many taxpayer-subsidized benefits including food, education, vocational training, education, English lessons, and even legal counsel.

Ultimately, most of the unaccompanied minors are released after promising to be in court at a later date for an immigration hearing--but many never show up.

The long term effects that the border crisis will have on American society is not fully known at this point. Breitbart Texas has reported extensively on the potential impact the foreign minors, all of whom are "entitled" to a taxpayer-funded education, could have on public schools.

A total of 30,340 unaccompanied minors--almost all of whom are from Central America--had been released to foster homes around the country as of July. Assuming that most of these children will not be immediately deported, U.S. public schools be will forced to accommodate them. Breitbart Texas previously reported that taxpayers in Texas alone are expected to spend more than $45 million educating the minors next year.

Mexico Freaks Out Over National Guard Troops On Border: “No Circumstance Justifies This Measure”

Warning: This article contains graphic imagery

The Mexican foreign ministry has launched a formal protest in response to Governor Rick Perry’s decision to send Texas National Guard Troops to the southern border.
According to a head-scratching statement released by Mexico, there is apparently no border security problem and the State of Texas has grossly overreacted.
Mexico “reiterates, in a firm and categorical way, its rejection of this measure,” read a statement from the foreign ministry.
“No circumstance at all or change in border security exists that justifies this measure taken by the state.”
The troop deployment “does not contribute in any way to solving the immigration problem,” and is inconsistent with US-Mexico talks aimed at “building a modern, prosperous and safe border,” the statement read.
Governor Rick Perry called up 1,000 Texas National Guard Troops in an effort to curb the flow of illegal immigrants into the state. Several dozen troops began arriving in the Rio Grande Valley last week as part of the state’s Joint Counterdrug Task Force.
While Mexican officials may protest and propagandize the situation, the evidence is clear. There has been a significant change in the circumstances on our southern border in recent months and tens of thousands of migrants, including criminal drug cartel and gang members, have made their way into the United States. Moreover, the Mexican government itself is facilitating the mass migrations.

(Pictured: The Beast train transports thousands of immigrants to crossing points on the southern border)

The foreign ministry says that they want to create a safe and prosperous border, yet some 70,000 people have been violently killed in Mexican border cities in the last 6 years as part of the ongoing drug war.
Is this what the ministry means when they say they want to build a modern and prosperous border region?

(Pictured: Extreme drug cartel violence often includes the slaughter of innocent men, women and children)
And while Mexico may be negotiating with the U.S. government about how to best handle immigration policy, to suggest that deploying Texas National Guard Troops does not “contribute in any way” to solving the immigration problem” is patently ridiculous.Perhaps it doesn’t solve the problem of how Mexican officials can move thousands of people into the United States illegally, but it certainly helps to slow down the migration from America’s perspective.Up until recently a sparse group of Border Patrol agents were stretched out across the border. Now, those attempting to cross over will be faced with a more formidable force:

(Pictured: Texas National Guard troops assemble on southern border)
We have militarized federal law enforcement agents who have been tasked with securing internal travel points throughout the United States.Maybe it’s time we send the heavy firepower down south instead:

The irony in the statement from the foreign ministry is apparent in the following photo, which shows a Mexican border patrol agent guarding a river access point from illegal immigration on Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala:

Despite the protests from Mexico, there is only one way to ensure the security of the U.S. border from foreign threats and it involves utilizing our military in the same way that the Mexican government is utilizing their military on their own southern border.
