Judge: NM agency violated voter registration law

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A federal judge has ruled New Mexico's Human Services Department is violating the National Voter Registration Act by not offering a voter registration application with every application for public assistance benefits.

A coalition of advocacy groups sued last year over compliance with the 1995 law.

This week, U.S. District Judge Judith Herrera granted the coalition's motion for a partial summary judgment in the lawsuit.

A section of the federal law requires public assistance agencies to give clients a voter registration form when clients apply for benefits, recertification or a change of address.

Herrera said the Human Services Department does not attach voter registration forms to those applications and does not automatically distribute them.

So if an anchor baby gets benefits the illegal mother has to be given a voters application when she fills out the application for the anchor?

That's how I interpret this decision. U.S. District Judge Judith Herrera? Hmmm...Cannot help but wonder if la raza played into this decision.

I say give them all applications then use the Human service records to catch and deport illegal voters.

What?!! Government agencies are required to hand out voter registration forms to people applying for public assistance??!!!

Well that law needs to be repealed. You know this is just one example of the still tens of thousands of stupid laws we don't even know about until they make the news over a lawsuit.

This is the stupid law that also requires DMV's to hand out/and or register you up when you apply for a driver's license.

Yeah...and now you know the spirt and intent behind the "Motor Voter" law. Make sure every illegal invader who is applying for public assistance on behalf of their anchor baby is also given the opportunity to register to vote. And then they call us "alarmists and racists" when we even suggest illegal invaders are voting in our elections. Go figure.

But of course, the good judge is only upholding federal law....

Easy fix and won't mean a problem for us. Give them Mexican voter registration cards lol. After all with judges pulling this crap I'd doubt the law specifically says it has to be a US voter registration card...
