Highland restaurant employee pleads guilty to illegally entering country

A Mexican citizen who was illegally working at a Mexican restaurant in Highland was sentenced to 94 days in prison.

Miguel Hernandez-Reyes, 37, of Mexico, pleaded guilty Tuesday to illegally entering the United States and misusing a Social Security number. Hernandez-Reyes pleaded guilty in federal court in East St. Louis, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Stephen R. Wigginton.

Hernandez-Reyes was sentenced to time served in prison, which was 94 days, one year supervised release and a $210 special assessment fine.

The case was investigated by agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Highland Police Department.

Sounds like he was back at the work the next day. It seems that Big Sis decides who stays and who goes based on "whatever" and not the law.

I wonder whose social security number he was using. But I am beginning to think identiy theft has been decriminalized for illegals.

94 days of more free stuff he dont care he will just go out and find another job.I had one hispanic male tell me being hispanic is like carring a union card he can get a job anywhere.I told him he is wrong even a legal union worker cant find a job nowdays.its because you are hispanic and you work cheap you dont realize or just plain stuped to see you are being taken advantage of the people that hire you dont care about you they laugh at you make money off your back to fill their pockets full of money.Made him so made he was ready to fight but instead turned probebly cursed me out in spanish[i dont care]and walked away.Instead of letting this guy out after 94 days why dont they deport him?oh it cost to much or he is just trying to better himself i get it [NOT].
