Don't think for one minute that Microsoft won't have something done about it.

    MS won't do anything.

In all of Asia one needs to just go to the local street corner downtown and some places even in malls to see stores with tons of pirated computer software, games, movies, music, the works. Most Asian countries its hard finding legit copies even considering a pirated copy often costs between $2-5 while a legit copy from $50-$1000 for some of the really big programs. Sure theres the risk of a virus but the risk for most is far less then the cost of legit software. Consider for the cost of 1 legit computer software item I could have 1 pirated of that and 30-40 other pirated items for the same cost.

MS hasn't done anything but build new security features which are often cracked within days or a week of release. China is also the #1 creator of pirated goods with India as #2.

Add in the losses from fake prescriptions or prescriptions under patent in the US that are duplicated in China along with basically any other technology.

The US loses hundreds of billions a year because of it if not more.

Its impossible to shut down is why. The only way is by the US Government putting major pressure which means tarriffs or bans on goods to and from said country as a way to deter. Without that nothing will change.

The reason in the US that piracy is lower is that many people while know how and may even like the idea of stiffing the man its just not worth their time. If you can walk to the nearest corner or see a pirated shop in the mall its no time involved but if you have to search the net, download, test, figure out how to install, and then ontop pray for no virus's its a fair bit of work vs just paying $1 and your set. The US worries about virus's more as we use our computers for personal and financial information as well while many foreign piracy countries don't as much or don't have our risk exposure.

But still until as a country we crack down heavily on countries that don't crack down on piracy of our products nothing will change.

Mexicans have no respect for ANY of our laws.
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson
