Migrant caravans are proving we desperately need a border wall

The caravans were the big mistake that those who opposed the wall between Mexico and the US made.

I was against the wall at first, for some good reasons. There had to be a better way to keep people from illegally entering the US. Let the technology folks work on the problem, I thought.

And small groups of people could easily move across the border through the many tunnels that have already been dug. The wall would be a waste, I also thought.

But then the caravans started up and were publicized — even heralded — in the US press. That’s when the idea of a wall became more desirable in my mind.

President Trump’s position on immigration has seemed to soften in the past few months. It seems he now understands — as I’ve been arguing — that immigration is not only desirable but necessary for the US to thrive.

We need people who want to work, pay taxes and add to a Social Security system that’ll go broke without them. Bring them on!

These immigrants just need to come to this country legally. And swarming the borders just isn’t a polite way to behave, no matter how desperate a person might be.


The caravans gave Trump the excuse to declare an emergency. The opponents of the wall should have planned their strategy better.

They take more in services than they will EVER pay in taxes or benefits to this country.

Their "cheap" labor is not cheap. Their overbreeding costs US taxpayers $30,000 per birth, they have several kids. They then get on welfare and food stamps. Their several kids costs US taxpayers $15,000 per kid, per school year. Add in the ESL classes and free breakfast and lunch! All of which they have no appreciate for because they did NOT earn any of it.

Their medical care will bankrupt us. We cannot afford our own health insurance. Add in the crime, rape, drugs, gangs, sex trafficking, horrific automobile accidents, overcrowding our schools, housing, roads, jails, prisons, courts and taking our jobs is a recipe for complete disaster and the failure of this country...which they created in their own and are fleeing from!!!

They do not assimilate. They refuse to speak English. They mouth off and cause riots and destruction in our streets and flip us off while waving their countries Flag.

WE WANT THEM ALL DEPORTED AND TURNED AROUND AT OUR BORDER!

More proof they are pumping legal and illegal immigrants into America to prop up economic and governmental bubbles that will eventually pop anyway. Except the downside to the corrections will be more bloody and harmful because they filled the nation with hostile peoples like the Romans did before their empire fell.

1) Set up a program for businesses to partner with the welfare and food stamp offices. Post these jobs on the welfare website in your community. Post your resume and match jobs to skills.

2) Have the welfare and food stamp recipients file a weekly job search record just like they do to receive unemployment. No more loading up EBT cards to people who are capable of working and get them off the dole. No job search filed...then NO EBT money! If there are two parents in the household...one parent can work days and one work nights. Get them OFF welfare. You had them...YOU work and feed them.

3) Same with Section 8 housing. Reform this FAILED government scam. These people continue to breed and live in Section 8 for 3 or 4 generations. Break the cycle of dependence on the government! We are not their baby daddy and we are not their landlord to live off for decades! Get them into job programs in exchange for the subsidy. No more free stuff. So much fraud in Section 8 housing program and we are sick of it.

4) Set up a prison work program for low risk prisoners. Put them to work in the Ag businesses and give them a reasonable wage to put in escrow. Many prisoners have child support to pay as well. It gives them a job to do and money for after their sentence is completed. Trump is letting these people out of prison...now get them on a path to jobs! They need to earn a living.

5) Bring the Trades back into high school classes 9-12. Set them up to get a job when they get out of high school and/or on to a Two Year Certificate Program.

6) Deport these illegal aliens and get our high school and college kids in the part-time workforce. Stop penalizing Senior's who want to continue to work part-time and collect their benefits! We have millions of Seniors and retired people, Veteran's, who would get to work.

7) No more foreign work visa's. We have PLENTY of people to get to work!



STOP BRINGING FOREIGNERS INTO OUR COUNTRY AND START INVESTING IN AMERICAN CITIZENS IN OUR OWN COUNTRY!

JARED...YOU ARE A TRAITOR TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! AND TRUMP YOU ARE A FOOL TO LISTEN TO HIM!

IF YOU ARE SO DAMN SMART THEN YOU IMPLEMENT PROGRAMS TO HELP OUR HOMELESS, OUR VETERAN'S, OUR SENIOR'S, OUR HIGH SCHOOL KIDS, OUR RELEASED PRISONERS ON THE PATH TO SUCESS.
