Migrant shelter set up by Border Patrol in northeast El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — The U.S. Border Patrol is now holding migrants at a temporary tent facility set up in northeast El Paso.

Migrants were previously being held by Border Patrol at a transitional shelter set up underneath the Paso del Norte bridge.

A spokesperson with U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Sunday that those migrants were being moved to a new location that provided more space and more shelter capability.

During a press conference Monday, Ruben Garcia, the director of Annunciation House, said the organization is now receiving migrants directly from the U.S. Border Patrol after they are processed, rather than receiving them through Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
