'They were out for blood," a witness told NBC 7/39. " They were out for beating the crap out of each other.
The trouble started at about 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Highland Center laundromat at the corner of Sante Fe Drive and Gardena Road in Encinitas.
Three people were injured in the all-out street fight between suspected gang members and migrant workers. The confrontation started when one of the migrant workers was robbed and decided to fight back. The robbers took the victim's wallet, said police, but the migrant worker got some friends and confronted the suspected gang members, who ran.
The migrant workers followed the robbers, and deputies said they quickly dismantled a wooden fence and used the pieces as clubs.
Area residents told NBC 7/39 that similar incidents are an ongoing problem in the neighborhood.
One of the suspected gang members has been released from the hospital, but the one is still hospitalized, as is an injured migrant worker.
Officials said that no one has been arrested in connection with the incident.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
