SAN DIEGO -- A woman with a Mexican flag and a man ran onto the field at Petco Park while the Diamondbacks were batting against the Padres in the third inning.

The two apparently were protesting Arizona's immigration law. Both were quickly apprehended by security and led off the field. The man ran onto the field from the stands along the first base line and was tackled in foul territory. The woman ran into shallow left field.

They ran onto the field just after Joe Saunders grounded out to open the inning.

There were dueling protests outside the downtown ballpark before the game, with one group favoring the law and the other opposing it. Several police officers kept an eye on the protesters.

Sometimes it's hard to find the words. This seems to be the trend to run across the field when the Diamondbacks play flying the Mexican flag...does that help their cause with the people watching? I don't think so.

If our federal government would just enforce the laws they already have passed we wouldn't be dealing with this kind of nonsense.

i can't understand why they keep running with a mexican flag ? that just seems so counter productive ....

the Mexican flag is to engender warm and fuzzy feelings by Americans towards illegal aliens. We just want to give them more and more free stuff. (sarcasm alert).

It is and that's why I hope they keep doing it. Even the most disinterested American cannot help but be annoyed when their baseball game is interrupted by these misfits carrying the flag of the invader.

I suppose the only thing that got them off the field was good honest security guards. If it had of been left up to the criminals passing themselves off as police they would still be in control of the game.

Raising a foreign flag on foreign soil is symbolic.....it is evidence of conquest.
The Marines did it on Iwo in 1945 and pirates do it even today on ships on the high seas.

Mexican flags are now being raised in Texas schools, and American citizen students are suspended for removing them. This is not merely an annoyance, it is a harbinger of a sign of things to come, unless illegal immigration is stopped in it's tracks....not in years, not in months, but NOW. These incidences are becoming more and more commonplace and it is laid at the feet of a polluted and twisted definition of "free speech".
