A Minnesota fugitive wanted on kidnapping charges appeared Tuesday before a federal magistrate after being found by authorities in Matamoros, U.S. Marshals Service officials said.

Timothy Caskey, age unknown, was apprehended by Mexican law enforcement on Monday. He is accused of kidnapping his wife, Roberta Caskey, who was with him at the time of his arrest, Marshals officials said.

The two were deported from Mexico via the B&M International Bridge on Monday, officials said. The suspect was processed by Customs and Border Protection and transported to the Cameron County Jail, according to the Marshals Service.

Officials said the suspect was wanted by FBI Minneapolis for kidnapping and wanted in Arkansas for violating his conditions of state parole.

U.S. Marshals officials in Minnesota gathered information that lead them to believe Caskey was in Matamoros with an associate and the victim, officials said.

According to the Marshals Service, the suspect was apprehended through the efforts of the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. State Department, the FBI and Mexican authorities.
