Minutemen to Celebrate Flag Day, Nations Independence

Send a flag to The Border Project underway. Hoping to place 10,000 flags along border fence with Mexico on July 4th.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 14, 2006 -- Wednesday is Flag Day in the United States. The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps of California announced today the launch of a project aimed at celebrating the nation’s independence and sovereignty.

The project entitled “Border Flags” or “Send a Flag to the Border” is a direct response to the onslaught on the American Flag this year and the invasion of our southern border with Mexico.

“People are fed up with illegal immigration and attacks on our flag; this is a chance for them to do something about it” stated Tim Donnelly State Director. “Our goal is to have a sea of American Flags along the US Border on July 4th to send a message to our politicians and the Mexican Government that we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore” he added.

Border Flags, found at www.BorderFlags.com is the result of months of watching illegal aliens demonstrating by flying the American Flag upside down and abusing our national symbol of sovereignty. “This is the United States of America, NOT AMEXICA” the website says.

The site calls upon patriotic Americans to sponsor an American Flag which the Minuteman group will take to the border on July 4th and throughout the month of July and mount to the Border fence (where a fence actually exists). The group has been in engaged in Border Watches and fence building and repair for more than a year and the funds raised by this project will go towards purchasing web cameras along the border, fence repairs, supplies and a 40 foot tall flag memorial atop Boundary Peak to honor the nearly 200 Border patrol and Customs Agents killed in the line of duty. This mountaintop is a few hundreds yards from the border fence itself and overlooks one of the most heavily trafficked areas along the California border.

“Thousands of Americans, who do not live along the border, have asked us what they can do” said Carl Braun Project Leader and Chief of Staff for the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps of CA. “Maybe they cannot physically be on the border but they can send an American flag in their place. We will make sure that flag serves them and all American’s well” he added.

To sponsor a Border Flag simply go to http://www.BorderFlags.com . It only costs ten dollars. All proceeds go towards helping the Minutemen stem the flood of illegal alien and drug traffic into the US.
