“The Minutemen are coming!� Based on the reporting in the Houston, Texas media, one would think this is the standard cry that should be heard across the land, as if the Minutemen were some invading force threatening our way of life.

For the last week, the local television and print media in Houston have been attacking the Minutemen because they have notified the press, public authorities and the general public that they plan to be active in Houston this October. The Minutemen have stated they plan to go around town documenting with video cameras illegal aliens congregating in certain parts of town, standing around waiting for employers to come by and offer them work. In addition, they plan to pay visits to certain businesses known to employ illegals and document their presence with their cameras.

The local media presented these facts, but did it in a way that attempted to make the Minutemen appear as if they were some racist, hostile organization going around intimidating and attacking law-abiding citizens of Houston. In truth, the Minutemen activity being conducted in Houston is being done by Houstonians who are members of the Minutemen Project! What this means is that citizens of this country who are local residents of the Houston area are taking time out of their lives to look into the matter of the overwhelming influx of illegals into the local community. Quite frankly, it isn’t the Minutemen who are a threat, as the media is trying to make us believe, it is the illegals that are the invading force and are a threat.

In interviews for these ‘propaganda’ pieces bashing the Minutemen, local officials and community ‘leaders’ have repeated declared, “we don’t need the Minutemen coming here and causing trouble.� As I’ve already stated, the Minutemen members conducting these ‘watches’ are locals themselves. They aren’t outsiders. The media ignores the fact that 80% of the American public wants the government to stop illegal immigration and deport illegals (and Houston surely reflects that statistic). The Minutemen members interviewed have clearly stated they have no plans to confront anyone, they simply want to gather evidence of the rampant illegal population that is in Houston, so authorities will have proof of the problem, and exactly where the problems are so they can address it (of course part of the problem is authorities would rather ignore the issue than address it).

I’ve stated it before, and it needs to be stated again: ‘Illegal’ means ‘criminal.’ Whether it’s stealing a doughnut because you are hungry, robbing a bank because you are unemployed and broke, or violating our immigration laws, doing something illegal makes you a criminal. No matter the ‘sob story’ pitched by supporters of illegals, that is no excuse for breaking our laws, and lawbreakers should not be rewarded with amnesty or some other ‘path to citizenship.’

Every person denouncing the Minutemen is a supporter of illegals and they have an agenda. To support illegal immigration is to be in collusion with those that break our laws, thus making the supporters criminals themselves. I’m sure the supporters of illegals will deny that last statement, but what else can you call it when politicians, business owners and church leaders know illegals are hear, putting a strain on our medical and educational systems, driving down wages and taking jobs American citizens need, and yet they don’t just refuse to prevent this abuse of our sovereignty, they willingly endorse undermining the stability of our borders, our economy, and our educational and medical systems.

The Minutemen Project is a patriotic organization that is trying to get our government to follow the laws of our land. If our leaders won’t follow the laws, then we have nothing. What is the purpose of fighting wars half a world away in the Middle East if our country is collapsing from within because we aren’t allowed to control our borders and who is allowed to enter our country? The Minutemen are heroes, and anyone who is hostile towards the legal, non-violent actions of the Minutemen is not for America or the ideals it stands for. Quite frankly, support for illegal immigration at this point in the problem borders on treason. Our borders are out of control and a nation that cannot control its borders will not be a nation for long.

The Minutemen are embarrassing to the government because they are highlighting the failures of the government to do one of its most basic jobs: defend our territorial integrity. Elected officials attack the Minutemen because the Minutemen expose the fact they aren’t doing their job. Businessmen attack the Minutemen because if the Minutemen are effective, businesses lose their cheap labor pool. The media attacks the Minutemen because….well, let’s face it; the media is simply a pack of socialist ignoramuses that don’t think beyond their feel-good ideology and ignore the huge negative impact uncontrolled immigration has on our society, or the fact that these people are all law-breakers.

Does anyone really think all these illegals are merely here to make a better life for themselves? Look at the facts. We have a host of crooks, rapists and child molesters that flood into this country via illegal immigration. Muslim radicals are pouring over our border via Mexico, setting up terror cells (the federal government has openly admitted this is happening). MS-13, a ruthless gang of Hispanic illegals, is growing and spreading across our country, continuously importing their own kind to corrupt our communities. Does any sane person think that people who are willing to break our laws to enter our country will somehow mysteriously morph into law-abiding citizens once here? The fact they broke the law getting here shows the nature of their character, and we don’t need that kind of character added to our already declining society.

Of course one of the most aggravating parts about the whole illegal mess, besides the fact our government has allowed it to get so out of hand, is that we citizens are taxed to pay fat salaries and pensions for government officials who do nothing, and our money is taken from us to finance the medical and educational systems that illegals take advantage of and are literally destroying by the strain they put on the systems without paying for any of it themselves. It looks as if we the citizens don’t have a ‘government of, by and for the people.’ It’s a government of the people, but for the illegals and the special interests.
