Authorities Bust Major Drug-Packaging Operation in McAllen

MCALLEN - A major drug-packaging operation is busted by police in a quiet McAllen neighborhood.

Weeks of investigating led Mission police and DEA agents to the McAllen neighborhood. Neighbors say they had no clue about the drug distribution operation.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS watched along with neighbors as all the bundles were carried out from inside the home on the 100 block of Fern Street. Narcotics investigators found the load in the master bedroom.

From plastic wrap to a scale, authorities also found evidence indicating the home was being used to repackage and distribute marijuana across the Valley and ship it up north. Police say the suspects worked hard to stay under the radar. Neighbors believe it was bound to happen on their street.
