Fix politicians not immigration laws
Fix politicians not immigration laws
Jul. 22, 2007 12:00 AM
I think the state's new employer-sanctions law is a good piece of bipartisan legislation. As has been said before, it really does level the playing field.
Maybe other states will pick up on this, and we can measure success one state at a time.
Another way to level the playing field would be for no one to be paid less than the minimum wage, regardless if they're illegal. A better way would be to move our southern border down to Guatemala, then everyone in Mexico can have amnesty, and they wouldn't even need to move.
Seriously now, The Arizona Republic says our immigration laws are broken ("The alarm sounds," Editorial, Thursday). How do we know? They've never been tried (as in enforced).
We have elected officials who have let this go on for decades, and now, of course, it seems to be broken. This is the point: We need to fix the politicians and elected officials (specifically in Washington), not the immigration laws.
I think this is the feeling of most people, not just some. - J. Ruger, Kingman

MEXICO WOULD BE DEAD WEIGHT FOR US. IT IS A MUDHOLE. NO WAY THAT WE SHOULD ANNEX MEXICO. IT WOULD DRAG US DOWN. LET THEM FIX IT THEMSELVES. MEXICANS SHOULD GO HOME AND FIX WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEIR COUNTRY, INSTEAD OF RUNNING AWAY TO USA.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I think at ALIPAC we need to make a keep and replace list of all Senators and the reasons why they need to go, then we should start NOW getting the word out to all states immediately, kind of like starting an early campaign for presidental election so we have plenty of time to reach as many people as possible by 2008, and maybe have a chance at making a big change!
