    Jo Mannies in StLToday.com:

The Missouri Constitution Party sent out a statement tonight announcing that it opposes the appointment of Linda Martinez by new Gov. Jay Nixon as director of the Missouri Economic Development Department.

    Why?

“While working pro bono for the Bryan Cave Law Firm, Ms Martinez led the fight to repeal duly passed city ordinances in Valley Park…put in place in 2006 to stem the tide of illegal immigrants in the small town,â€

    Martinez Appointment in Question

JEFFERSON CITY - The state senate put the approval of a key economic position on hold.

One Missouri senator wants more information about Linda Martinez, Governor Nixon's pick to head the Department of Economic Development.

Martinez worked in Saint Louis as an attorney, and some of her clients sought economic development incentives.

Senator Brad Lager wants a list of Martinez's clients from last year. He wants to make sure there are no conflicts of interest.

Martinez says she would use caution to prevent any ethical conflicts if she gets the position.

As for the rest of Nixon's picks, five appointments passed through the Senate Thursday.

George Lombardi is the new Director of the Department of Corrections.

Dr. Jon Hagler now heads the Department of Agriculture.

The Senate approved Ronald Levy as the Director of the Department of Social Services.

Lawrence Rebman as Director of the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.

And Jon Britt as Director of the Department of Public Safety.

As for the Martinez appointment, State Senators are expected to discuss the situation again next week.

    Like that's gonna happen!
You think she's going to turn over a bunch of illegals names??
I hope they say, "Either you do or we won't vote you in!"
    Let's track this one.

I left a comment to the illegal lovers since ALIPAC was mentioned in the second article,
but it had no comment section like the first one did.
